He be nimble.
I get up this morning
And what do I see
A man, mad and angry
And coming at me
What did I do?
I can not recall
Although I suspect
Nothing at all
He be nimble
He be quick
He comes at me
With a candlestick
He hits high
He hits low
He follows me
Where ever I go
We are defenceless
Baby and me
He doesn’t relent
He doesn’t see
How much I love him
How much I care
How much I want him
And want to be there
He be nimble
He be quick
He comes at me
With a candlestick
He hits high
He hits low
He follows me
Where ever I go
I see my baby
As he comes at me more
I try hard to grab her
And head for the door
He doesn’t like, that
Were trying to run
He doesn’t like, that
Were spoiling his fun
He be nimble
He be quick
He comes at me
With a candlestick
He hits high
He hits low
He follows me
Where ever I go
So he hits out
For one final time
Hits the back of my head
Completing his crime.
He be nimble
He be quick
He came at me
With a candlestick
Wow…..the two voices are very distinct even though the same person is talking. The woman’s to me reads with pain and fear and protectiveness while as she describes the man I read anger and intense rage. I enjoyed reading it. Thank you.
