She took an almighty big inhale. Held it for just a little longer than was comfortable and then slowly breathed out the thick, creamy smoke. She had been waiting for that all day long and now the kids were in bed, it was her time to relax.
Some mums chose to polish off a half bottle of wine or two; or three. Some mums coped on a doctors prescription, like her, but some mums also choose her other lifestyle; although they were few and far between, to her knowledge.
Not many approved of her choice of relaxation method and so she stayed on her own, most of the time; choosing the solitary life so as not to be shamed by those who do not care to understand her reasons or tolerate her excuses.
When you lie on the wrong side of the law, you suffer the consequences in many more ways than just the legal; the whole life can suffer and so she juggled her personas dependant on her company.
It takes its toll; living a lie. It exhausts her to the point of complete dissociation as she shuts down from it all for just a few hours and dreams of a more tolerant society where no-one is vilified by their life choices as long as they are hurting no one else.
